I am posting this for Anna, Lou's wife. Lou owns this place and all of CS. For over a year his wife has been fighting breast cancer. It has not gone well. She sent out this email today and I am posting it here for all to read and act if they wish.

Please sign the petition on this link and have family and friends do the same. We need more choices for breast cancer treatment, not less. As you all know, I have been in treatment for metastatic breast cancer for 9 months now. I have been on a drug combo of abraxane and avastin. The abraxane is a chemotherapy. The avastin is an anti-angiogenesis drug. What does that mean? It means it keeps new blood vessels from rebuilding. More importantly, it keeps cancer tumors from rebuilding new blood vessels. Avastin received temporary rapid FDA approval in 2008. Since then it has been undergoing clinical trials along with patients being able to have the drug at their treatment centers. The trial results came back and were not what was expected. There is a lot of controversy about the results of the studies. It looks like the FDA will be disapproving it for "my" kind of cancer but they will still be using it for other types. Many of the women I know that have been on this drug have had wonderful results. Some women it has not worked for. The FDA says the benefit does not out way the risk, obviously they are not metastatic cancer patients. I have triple negative breast cancer, which is even more difficult to treat and we don't have many drug choices. Avastin is the drug of choice for this cancer. Please sign this petition and allow "US" the patients and their doctors make the decision about risks vs benefits.

My mom is fighting breast cancer for the third time at the moment, going through chemotherapy also. It's a rough and unfair decease....

I signed it. I lost my mom to cancer in 1974 when I was 13 years old. Back then they had very few treatments. They need to let the patient decide. I know the horrors of cancer first hand. All my best to Anna and Lou, may god bless you both.

I signed the petition. I hope it works as in cases like that its got to the the person with the cancer who has the ability to decide whether they want to take the risk or not. It could be such a good thing and you can just cut that out from people that one hope.

FDA didn't approve it. What about European similar agencies did they approve Avastin?

Maybe it's possible to get it in Europe.

Just checked it. It is available and actively used in Europe as we speak. USA should wake up. You can buy a handgun, but you aren't allowed to use medicine?
